COLORADO SPRINGS, CO : Colorado Springs and Fountain police on accident alert on Tuesday, 5th November 2024

Colorado Springs police and Fountain police announced they were on accident alert Tuesday night due to slick road conditions.

Accident alert is activated when a police station anticipates receiving a high volume of motor vehicle crashes and, due to severe weather, is unable to respond to all of them. When accident alert is in place, police will only respond to a collision if a car is undrivable due to damage, the accident involves a death or injury requiring medical assistance, alcohol or drugs are involved, the crash is an alleged hit-and-run, or if there is damage to a public property other than wildlife.
