Two people were injured in a crash involving three vehicles on the Western Kentucky Parkway on Sunday afternoon, March 13.
At around 2:11 p.m. on Sunday, Grayson County Sheriff's Office (GCSO), Caneyville Volunteer Fire Department, and Grayson County Emergency Medical Services (GCEMS) personnel responded to the crash, which took place near the 96 mile marker of the westbound lane of the Western Kentucky Parkway.
According to Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins, a red GMC Sierra, driven by Blake Christian, 20, of Owensboro, had been travelling eastbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway when it crossed the median and into the westbound side of the parkway.
The GMC then made slight contact with a red Mazda, driven by Brady Brinsfield, 19, of West Virginia, before colliding with a grey Lexus RX 300, driven by Rebekah Dale, 21, of Lexington, Chaffins said.
Christian was airlifted to Evansville, IN to receive medical treatment for serious injuries sustained in the crash.
Dale was transported from the scene by GCEMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center to receive treatment for serious but non-life-threatening accident-related injuries.
Brinsfield was uninjured.
The Mazda came to a rest in a ditch beside the roadway. The GMC came to a rest on its side in a ditch beside the roadway. And the Lexus came to a rest in the roadway. Wrecker services were called to remove the vehicles from the scene.
The GCSO was also assisted at the scene of the crash by the Kentucky State Police and Kentucky State Highway Department.
