Wilimington, NC : Locoltus Grady pedestrian hit and killed by pizza delivery car at 600 block of Morningside Drive On Thursday, May 5th, 2016

One person has been charged after a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in the 600 block of Morningside Drive Thursday evening.
Locoltus Grady, 36, of Wilimington, died in the crash. Brittany Boddiford, 22, of Wilmington was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, driving left of center, exceeding the posted speed limit and simple possession of a schedule VI
substance.
According to Linda Rawley with the Wilmington Police Department, the accident happened around 6 p.m. Boddiford, a Domino's delivery driver, was returning to the store on Carolina Beach Road after making a delivery. She was driving a Mercury
Mountaineer.
Grady was standing next to his parked car on the driver's side when Boddiford reached for her cell phone, drifted left and entered the oncoming lane. She sideswiped Grady's vehicle and hit a moving truck head on, which caused Grady to be
thrown over the hood of the moving truck and onto the ground.
EMS performed CPR on Grady and he was taken to NHRMC, where he later died.
Boddiford was placed under a $1,000 secured bond and taken to the New Hanover County Jail.
