Two people are dead after a rollover crash that closed State Route 77

Two people are dead after a rollover crash that closed State Route 77 just north of Snowflake Friday morning.

The crash happened about 5:17 a.m. eight miles north of Snowflake at milepost 368, according to an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman.

He said the vehicle was southbound when it left the road, ran into the shoulder and back on to the road before rolling several times and landing on its roof. Both victims were found inside, he said.

Drivers were rerouted to SR 377, another north-south highway to the west of Snowflake that goes between Heber and Holbrook, according to an Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman.

The highway reopened about 9:30 a.m.,
