Killeen, TX : No reported injuries after chase ends in crash on Wednesday, June 28, 2017

The Killeen Police Department assisted the Harker Heights Police Department with a vehicle pursuit on Interstate 14/U.S. Highway 190 on Wednesday at 12:50 a.m., according to Killeen police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez.

The chase began when the vehicle, a blue Dodge Ram pickup, failed to stop at a traffic stop in Harker Heights and drove into Killeen. According to Miramontez, the truck was first spotted by KPD traveling on U.S. 190 and exiting at the Willow Springs exit.

The driver led officers westbound on Edgefield Street. At the intersection of Edgefield and Robinette Road, the driver continued across Robinette and crashed into the creek on the west side of Robinette.

The driver, a 32-year-old male, left the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot before he was apprehended by officers.

The suspect was released to the Harker Heights Police Department.
