Mount Clemens, MI : 81-year-old man dies in Shelby Township crash on Thursday, 26th April 2018

Shelby Township police say they are seeking more information about a crash Friday that killed an 81-year-old man.

The victim, whose name was not released pending notification of family, was driving a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck in an erratic manner at about 11:50 a.m. on eastbound 23 Mile Road near Shelby Road, police said in a news release. Minutes later, the vehicle was involved in a crash involving a commercial “Box” truck at 23 Mile and Central Industrial Drive.

The Ram driver was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Troy, where he died, police said.

The driver of the Box truck, a 66-year-old person whose gender was not provided, was treated at Troy Beaumont and released.

Twenty-three Mile was closed for several hours after the crash.
