Lockbourne, OH : Two People injured and taken to hospital after Four Vehicle Crash at High Street and Rathmell Road on Friday morning ,April 24 2015

Columbus police are investigating a four-vehicle crash on the South Side that sent at least two to the hospital.

At 6:28 a.m., police were called about a crash at High Street and Rathmell Road, police said.

One vehicle was on fire. The blaze had to be extinguished before a man was removed from it.


At least two victims were taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, one in critical condition.

High Street northbound is closed. Southbound traffic was closed during the investigation, but has since re-opened.

South Side residents asked the city in 2011 to install warning lights for the Rathmell/High Street intersection, which they said is particularly dangerous. City officials said that this was not needed.
