JACKSON, MS : Driver killed after car catches fire in Jackson on Tuesday, 21st May 2024

A 28-year-old was killed after their car caught on fire in Jackson Tuesday morning.

As of right now, JPD is ruling the death of Jaylan Miner a fatal accident, according to Detective Tommie Brown.

Jackson police, firefighters, an ambulance, and a crime scene unit all responded to the fire just before 1:30 a.m. after a JPD officer stopped a speeding car.

When the driver was questioned on why he was speeding, he stated that a friend, Miner, had called and said he had crashed his vehicle.
