MUNFORD, AL : Man killed in single-vehicle crash in Clay County on Monday, 26th February 2024

A Munford man was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 4:28 p.m. Monday.

According to police, 39-year-old Christopher A. Gortney was fatally injured when the 2007 Chevrolet Suburban he was driving left the roadway and overturned.

The crash occurred on Clay County Road 7 near Shady Grove Road, about six miles north of Goodwater, in Clay County.

Police say Gortney was not wearing a seatbelt and pronounced him dead at the scene.
