NEW PITTSBURG, OH : A three-vehicle crash that slowed traffic on U.S. Route 250 on Monday, June 26, 2017

A three-vehicle crash that slowed traffic on U.S. Route 250 between Bates and Odgen Road, east of New Pittsburg, sent three people taken to an area hospital.

Trooper Jim Donohue, with the Wooster Post of the State Highway Patrol, also confirmed the road is now open to traffic.

According to Donohue, Judy Franks, 46, of Wooster, Ralph Soehnlen, 57, of East Sparta, and William Bankovich, 62, of Louisville, were all taken to Wooster Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Donohue said Anthony Price, 24, of Vermillion, was driving a Chevy 2500 with a trailer hauling aluminum door parts for Wayne Dalton Garage Doors when he failed to stop in time, as traffic was stopped due to road crews filling potholes in the area.

Price rear-ended a Honda car operated by Franks. Price's truck then went left of center on U.S. 250, off the roadway where he struck a mailbox, and then came back onto the roadway and struck Soehnlen's Ford Taurus, which was stopped 3-4 cars ahead of Franks' Honda.

All three vehicles were driving eastbound on U.S. 250, between Odgen and Bates Road.

Price was deemed the at-fault driver and cited for assured clear distance.
