Omaha, NE : One person was killed in early morning crash at 55th Street and Bedford Avenue On Saturday, May 21st, 2016

Omaha police said one person was killed early Saturday morning in a crash near 55th Street and Bedford Avenue.

Officers said the driver, Johnetta Lowery, 28, was driving west on Bedford Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when she lost control and left the roadway.

The car struck a retaining wall then crossed 55th Street before hitting a tree.

Lowery was thrown from the vehicle.

Medics took Lowery to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition, where she later died due to her injuries.
