Opelika, AL : 53-year-old man dies after car accident in Opelika on Monday, December 26th 2016
A 53-year-old man died after a motorcycle-vehicle crash at the intersection of Marvyn Parkway and Crawford Road in Opelika on Monday.
Opelika police and fire and rescue units of the Opelika Fire Department responded to a call about a traffic accident with injuries at approximately 12:15 p.m., according to a release from the Opelika Police Department.
The 53-year-old man who was driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:34 p.m.
Preliminary investigation shows that a Chevrolet Avalanche was attempting to turn left from Marvyn Parkway onto Crawford Road, and the motorcycle was traveling north on Marvyn Parkway when the two vehicles collided. The investigation is ongoing.
Identification of the deceased victim is being withheld until the family can be notified.
