Providence, RI : Two dead in Fall River crash on Sunday, December 11, 2016
Two Rhode Island men were killed early this morning when state police say their car drifted off Route 24 in Fall River and slammed into a tree.
Police said the driver, 36, and a passenger, 23, both from Providence, R.I., were pronounced dead at Charlton Hospital following the single-vehicle crash at 1:35 a.m.
A second passenger in the 2003 Mercury, also 23, was being treated at Rhode Island Hospital.
No identities were immediately released, pending notification of their families.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police said the car was headed north when it veered off the right side of the road shortly before Exit 8A.
