Somerton, AZ : 1 driver injured in collision at Highway 95 and Avenue D on Monday, 25th November, 2019

The driver of one of the two vehicles involved in a motor vehicle collision on Monday was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for further evaluation of his injuries, according to information provided by the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department.

Fire Chief Paul De Anda reported that the injury accident happened at approximately 3:05 p.m. at Highway 95 and Avenue D.

When firefighters arrived on scene they found a gray Jeep Cherokee in the middle of the intersection and a white Ford pickup with a trailer on the southeast corner on the shoulder.According to witnesses, the Jeep was southbound and turning east onto Highway 95 when it struck the Ford pickup, which was eastbound on Highway 95.

The driver of the Ford pickup complained of pain to his back, left hip and leg. He was placed in full cervical spine precautions and transported to YRMC by Somerton/Cocopah ambulance.

The driver and passenger of the Jeep, stated that they were uninjured and refused treatment and transportation.
