Two car crash near Bridge of the Gods Near Columbia Washington
State Route 14 reopened Thursday night after a fatal two-car crash killed at least one person and closed the highway in both directions for several hours, Washington State Patrol said.
The two cars collided east of the Bridge of the Gods near milepost 41 around 3:30 p.m., said Trooper William Finn, a patrol spokesman.
The accident occurred just one day after a landslide on Interstate 84 created a surge in traffic along the windy, two-lane road north of the Columbia River.
A Washington State Department of Transportation spokeswoman urged drivers to avoid SR 14, if at all possible, because the highway remains congested
