A woman out for a motorcycle ride with her husband collided with a tractor trailer early Sunday afternoon, but escaped with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the woman and the tractor trailer were both making left turns onto Route 1 North from Taunton Street, in the area of the Target plaza, when the crash took place shortly after noon on Sunday.
Police said both the motorcyclist and the tractor trailer were in their appropriate lanes when the driver of the motorcycle drifted out of her lane and into the path of the truck.
The motorcycle, a Kawasaki Vulcan, was found partially under the trailer of the Panera Bread tractor trailer unit.
The woman, who was not identified, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence for her injuries.
Traffic traveling north on Route 1 was able to move through the accident scene by using the break-down lane in front of Lowe’s.
State police assisted Plainville police at the scene and the state police truck team was called to investigate the safety of the tractor trailer.
Plainville police did an investigation of the crash.
