Newnan, GA : Man injured in Minix Road crash on October 7 2016

The vehicle traveled off the left hand side of the road, struck a power pole and overturned, according to Hogan. Firefighters worked for 20 minutes to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Ricky Weaver, 31, was flown to Atlanta Medical Center. Weaver suffered from a head injury as a result of the accident, but is expected to recover, Hogan said.

The road was closed for several hours while workers repaired the broken pole.

Speed, drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a factor in the accident, investigators believe.
