Police say a teenage girl is dead after the car she was riding in hit a utility pole in New York.

The accident happened just after 1 a.m. Saturday in the town of Centerville.

State police say 21-year-old driver Thomas Marion had four passengers in his car when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole.

Police say 15-year-old passenger Jasmine Uveino-Braymiller was killed in the crash.

The driver and the remaining passengers were being treated for their injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
