Riverbank, CA : No children on the bus were injured, when Car collides with school bus in Riverbank on Tuesday, April 14, 2015

The driver of a car who crashed into a school bus Tuesday afternoon has been arrested, suspected of DUI, the California Highway Patrol said.

Twelve children were aboard the school bus when it collided with the vehicle along Patterson Road in Riverbank.

In an attempt to get around traffic, the Honda Accord driver got onto the shoulder to pass several cars, the CHP said.

The driver then crashed into the front end of the bus as it pulled out after making a stop about 3:15 p.m.

None of the students aboard the bus were injured, the superintendent with the Riverbank Unified School District said.

The bus driver also was OK.

Officials said a girl inside the back of the car suffered a head injury and was taken to a hospital.

Officials will investigate if the car seat inside the Honda was properly installed.

Images from LiveCopter3 showed the school bus loaded onto a tow truck before it was taken away.

Students from Mesa Verde Elementary School and Riverbank Language Academy were on the bus.
