Pueblo, CO : Woman killed in accident identified on Friday, March 10th 2017
A 69-year-old woman was killed in an accident on the South Side Friday morning after a water delivery truck reportedly failed to yield for a stop sign and struck a vehicle at the intersection.
Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter identified the deceased as Anna Costanza, of Pueblo.
Around 9:45 a.m. a 26-year-old man was driving a Deep Rock Water delivery truck west on West Adams Avenue and, when he came to the intersection at Jackson Street, he reportedly drove through the stop sign there and collided with a Chrysler PT Cruiser that was traveling north on Jackson, according to Sgt. Howard Jackson of the Pueblo Police Department.
Costanza, a passenger in the front seat of the PT Cruiser, was killed instantly, Jackson said.
The driver of the PT Cruiser, a 65-year-old woman, was transported to Parkview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the water delivery truck was not injured in the accident. Police have not released his identity. Jackson said he was interviewed by police Friday and charges against him are pending.
The intersection where the accident occurred was closed for hours Friday as police investigated.
