Raynham, MA : Officer involved in rear-end collision on I-495 Monday night, July 7, 2014

A Raynham, Massachusetts, police officer on construction zone detail on I-495 southbound was rear-ended by another driver Monday night, according to officials.

Raynham Fire says the officer rear-ended on 495 south between Exits 8 and 9. There's no word on how serious the injuries are, but Raynham Fire confirms the officer involved in the accident was taken to a Rhode Island hospital.

Massachusetts State Police say they're are on the scene, and the left and center southbound lanes are closed.
