NASHVILLE, TN : Cab driver killed in downtown Nashville crash on Wednesday, October, 11th 2017
Metro police say a cab driver was killed and their passenger was critically injured in a crash involving five vehicles in downtown Nashville on Wednesday afternoon.
It happened at Second Avenue South and Peabody Street around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said a van was traveling on Second Avenue when the driver experienced a medical emergency. The passenger took control of the van but was unable to stop it, striking a taxi cab.
The driver of the cab, 55-year-old Hizkias Woldegabriel, was killed in the crash. The passenger in the cab was also injured and is in critical condition.
A passenger in the van was also transported to the hospital.
Three other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police said the people in those vehicles suffered injuries, but none of them were serious.
