TOPPENISH, WA : Drunk driving cited as crash cause on State Route 22 on Monday, 3rd December 2018
Driving under the influence was listed as the cause of a two-car crash Monday afternoon on State Route 22, according to Washington State Patrol reporting officer Karla Castilleja.
The incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. when a 2002 Honda Accord, driven by Manuel A. Bernadino, 22, of Sunnyside, slowed for traffic near LaRue Road. Bernadino was hit from behind by a 1996 GMC Sonoma pickup, driven by Armando Gomez, 33, also of Sunnyside.
Injured in the crash was Estanilada Garcia, 21, of Lakewood. She was transported to Astria Toppenish Hospital.
Gomez was cited for driving under the influence.
