Three young men died on Oct. 31 when their vehicle went over an embankment on Skyline Boulevard south of Bear Gulch Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies discovered the crashed Hyundai before 8 a.m. Wednesday and notified the CHP who came out to do an investigation.
It appears that the vehicle had been traveling southbound on Skyline Boulevard before veering from the west side of the road, colliding with a tree and resting on its wheels about 50 feet down the hill.
Ricardo Seneca Torres, a 19-year-old Redwood City resident, was the driver. The passengers were Andrew Rogelio Gonzales, an 18-year-old Menlo Park resident and Matthew Edward Eric Cruz, an 18-year-old Redwood City resident.
Skyline Boulevard was closed in both directions during an on-scene investigation Wednesday morning.
It is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. Any witnesses are encouraged to contact Officer Brian Wester at (650) 369-6261.
