Medford, WI : 56-year-old Illinois man died following a one-vehicle crash on Highway 13 in Taylor County on Wednesday afternoon, March 2, 2016

A man died in a one vehicle crash north of Medford Wednesday afternoon. Taylor County Sheriff Bruce Daniels says the crash involved a Ford pickup that left Highway 13 about four miles north of Medford between County Highway M East and M West.

The pickup struck a tree after entering the east ditch at about 3:00 p.m.

Daniels says significant lifesaving efforts were attempted, and Medford Fire Department paramedics used the jaws of life to free the man from the vehicle.

The man's name, age, and hometown have not been released yet. Daniels expects that to happen after the man's family has been notified.
