Beaufort County, SC : Officials seeking info in fatal overnight hit-and-run on HHI on Saturday September 17 2016

Officials in the Lowcountry are seeking information after a fatal hit-and-run collision took place on Hilton Head, in the early morning hours of Saturday.

South Carolina Highway Patrol says 54-year-old Matthew Proctor of Hilton Head was hit and killed on US-278, near Queens Way, around 2:40 a.m. while riding his bike. They say the suspect vehicle is described as burgundy/maroon in color, and it's believed to have some damage on the left front bumper, hood, and grill area of the driver's side. They believe the windshield may also be damaged. The exact make and model of the vehicle is unknown at this time.
