Martinsville, VA : Two students were taken to the hospital in a crash on May, Monday, 22nd 2017

Two students were taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after a Caroline County school bus crashed in Lake Land 'Or, according to the Caroline Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office said it received a call around 3:30 p.m. about a crash on Campers Lane near Ackerman Lane in Lake Land 'Or. According to a post on the Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the bus driver told deputies he swerved to miss a vehicle in the center of the road, ran into a ditch on the right side of the road, came back across the road and ended up in a ditch on the left side.

There were five students on the bus along with the driver. A seventh-grader and eighth-grader who complained of pain were taken to Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center to be checked out, the post said. The other three students were released to their parents, the Sheriff's Office said.

The incident remains under investigation, but the Sheriff's Office said it appears that there was no contact between the vehicles and the bus had only minor damage.
