Cape Girardeau County, MO: I-55 open after early morning crash near exit 117 on Thursday, July 23rd 2015

Both lanes of I-55 North near the Perry County line are back open after and early morning crash closed down traffic to one lane for hours.Missouri Highway Patrol dispatchers say the crash involving a semi tractor-trailer happened just 6:00 a.m. on northbound I-55 just north of exit 117, the Old Appleton exit.Officers say the truck crashed into the ditch on the side of the highway. Its trailer flipped over onto its top, blocking the right-hand lane.The driver of the semi has been taken to a local hospital. Investigators on the scene did not have details on the extent of his injuries, but say he's expected to be OK.The truck has lost it's load. Workers are on the scene cleaning it up, and trying to get the truck clear of oncoming traffic.The highway was down to one lane for about 2 1/2 hours.
