Motorists traveling east on Interstate 10 near the southbound Interstate 75 exit must travel on a detour route after a crash late Sunday morning.

The incident took place at about 11:18 a.m., when a semi truck driver lost control of the vehicle as it slowed to exit the road at exit 296-A toward I-75, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

The truck hit a guardrail and the support beams for large metal traffic signs before coming to a stop that completely blocked eastbound traffic, the release said.

The truck’s driver, Antwon Johnson, 29, of Orlando, and his passenger, Hector Cruz, 50, of Orlando, both sustained minor injuries and were taken to Lake City Medical Center.

I-10 eastbound traffic is being detoured to County Road 137 North and County Road 136 East, to I-75, according to FHP.
