LAKE STEVENS, WA : 1 dead in head-on crash in Lake Stevens on Wednesday, 17th July 2019

One man died Wednesday afternoon in a head-on crash in Lake Stevens.

A man in his late 40s was driving a Ford Fiesta east on Highway 204, when the car crossed the line near Lundeen Parkway, according to Lake Stevens police.

The Ford crashed head-on into a GMC Envoy at noon. The Ford driver died later in the afternoon.

A man, woman and two children in the GMC were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, for what appeared to be minor injuries, Lake Stevens police Cmdr. Jeff Beazizo said.

Both vehicles were totaled.

Police were investigating what caused the driver to cross into oncoming traffic.

The highway reopened to traffic around 3 p.m.
