Eau Claire,WI : Eau Claire man flees from hit-and-run crash on December, Wednesday 27th 2017

An Eau Claire man is accused of causing a crash by turning into another vehicle and then fleeing the scene.

Antonio F. Hernandez-Gomez, 36, 1226 Meridian Heights Drive, was charged recently in Eau Claire County Court with a felony count of hit and run causing injury and misdemeanor counts of obstructing an officer and operating after revocation.

A man said he was driving north on Highway 37 at 6:15 a.m. Dec. 27 when a truck driven by Hernandez-Gomez turned in front of him at the Interstate 94 eastbound ramp.

The man said he struck the truck broadside. The man had chest and facial pain, and Hernandez-Gomez then fled the scene.

Police contacted Hernandez-Gomez at his residence. He admitted driving the truck at the time of the crash and fleeing the scene.

His license had been revoked because of a drunken driving conviction in February 2014 in Eau Claire County.
