Enfield, N.H : Driver died in a fiery car crash on Interstate 89 in Enfield on Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2016

Police say a fiery crash on Interstate 89 in Enfield killed the driver late Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just after 4 p.m near southbound Exit 16. Police say first responders and other motorists attempted to reach the driver, but the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and they were unable to. The driver died at the scene.

Interstate 89 was shut down for approximately 45 minutes as crews extinguished the fire.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and the name of the victim has not been released.
