A Powell man died and a woman had to be airlifted to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Clinton Highway Wednesday evening.

According to THP, Patrick S. Johnson, 40, died in the crash after his Buick Rendezvous ran off the right side of the road and crashed into a 'legally parked vehicle.'

His passenger, Samantha J. Oody, 25, of Oak Ridge, had to be airlifted to UT Medical Center.

THP said neither of the victims were wearing a seat belt.

One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a crash on Clinton Highway.

It happened near the Knox-Anderson County line Wednesday evening. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a Buick Rendezvous crashed into a large truck.

One person was pronounced dead on the scene and the other was airlifted to UT Medical Center.

Both lanes of Clinton Highway south into Knox County were shut down.
