One person died Tuesday in a crash involving a propane-tank semitruck and a pickup on State Route 530 near Darrington in Snohomish County. Another person who was trapped in a vehicle was rescued and was not injured, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. The semitruck caught fire, and all lanes — southbound and northbound — were blocked for hours before the state Department of Transportation said they had reopened.
