Coleman County, TX : Two people killed and one seriously injured in a three-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 84 near Coleman on Monday, April 18, 2016

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Tuesday released the identities of people killed and injured in a three-vehicle accident Monday between Coleman and Santa Anna.

Two people were killed in the accident and one was seriously injured in the accident about 2 p.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 84, about a mile east of Coleman.

Killed were Roberto A. Rodriguez, 37, of Mission, the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet pickup and Brittany Dawn Grove, 24, of Voss, the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze.

A passenger in the pickup, Alejandro Soto Ayala, 60, of Pharr received critical injuries and was taken to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

The driver of the third vehicle, Matthew Wayne Stump, 55, of Round Rock, was treated and released from the Coleman County Medical Center.

The DPS reported that Rodriguez was traveling east on U.S. 84 when he apparently lost control of his pickup on the wet road. His pickup slid across the highway into the westbound lanes of traffic where it hit the Chevrolet Cruze driven by Grove. It then struck a 2015 Ford Taurus being driven by Stump.

DPS Trooper Clinton Hounshell investigated the accident.
