Park Rapids, MN : Fatal crash near Menahga on Friday, July 21, 2017
One person is reportedly dead and another flown from the scene with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash Friday morning one mile north of Menahga on U.S. Highway 71. Witnesses who arrived on scene shortly after the accident said they believed it was a head-on collision and the driver of a passenger car was killed. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the collision is reportedly a 33-year-old male who was flown from the scene with a fractured left leg and lacerations.
The Minnesota State Patrol, Menahga Fire Department, Tri-County Hospital and Menahga Police Department responded to the scene. Southbound traffic was turned around back toward Park Rapids and northbound traffic back to Menahga as emergency personnel worked at the scene. Names and additional information have not yet been released by the State Patrol.
