Lyon County, IL : 1 killed in Lyon County crash on Highway 23 on Sunday, 30th December 2018

A teenager died as the result of a collision in Lyons Township Sunday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 18-year-old Jordan Peter Clapsaddle, of Russell, was driving southbound on Highway 23 at about 7 p.m. when his Chevy Silverado collided with a Ford F250 heading northbound.

State patrol officers reported Clapsaddle died as a result of the crash. Authorities said they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. Authorities also reported Clapsaddle was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver and passenger in the F250 were not hurt, authorities said.
