KANSAS CITY, MO : 5-year-old suffers life-threatening injuries in crash on Thursday, 4th February 2021
A 5-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash Thursday night.
Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to the three-vehicle collision just after 9 p.m. at Interstate 435 and Stadium Drive.
According to police, a Chevrolet Impala had run out of gas and was stopped on the side of the entrance ramp with lights flashing. Police say as the car's battery started to die, the driver of the Impala called a cousin for help.
The cousin arrived in a Chevrolet SUV. Inside was the driver, a front-seat passenger, a 5-year-old and a 4-year-old. The SUV, which had its lights on, was parked south of the Impala.
According to authorities, a white Ramp Laramie Sport pickup truck was traveling southbound on the ramp to get on to the highway when it struck the Impala, and then struck the SUV.
