Scottsdale, AZ : DPS motorcycle officer hurt in suspected DUI crash in Scottsdale on Saturday evening, October 18, 2014
An Arizona Department of Safety officer is recovering after a crash in Scottsdale on Saturday evening.
Police say a driver turned left in front of a motorcycle at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Westland on Saturday evening at about 6:30pm, and the two vehicles collided. Officers say a 58-year-old man and his 55-year-old wife were on the bike, and suffered severe leg injuries in this crash. We're told the man involved in the accident is an Arizona DPS officer.
Both were treated for their injuries at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital. The driver of the van was cited for failure to yield. Police say neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash. The intersection was shut down and is back open on Sunday morning.
