Columbus,OH : Two killed in Columbus traffic accidents on September, Tuesday 5th 2017
Columbus police are investigating two separate fatal crashes late Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday morning, Brian Bowersmith was killed in a two-vehicle crash at the Holt Road and Georgesville Square Drive South intersection on the Far West Side, according to the police Traffic Bureau Accident Investigation Unit.
Bowersmith, 34, was a front-seat passenger in 2003 Honda Accord driven by Natasha Roberts, 37, who was attempting to turn from southbound Holt Road to eastbound Georgesville Square Drive South, police said. Marilyn Wilson, 58, was driving her black 2012 Honda Accord northbound on Holt Road and “entered the intersection as Roberts was northbound directly in front of her.” police said.
On Monday night, a man died after his SUV crashed on Interstate 71 near Morse Road on the North Side.
The 64-year-old man’s name was not being released yet Tuesday because he is from out of town and it was taking time to notify his family, police said.

The man was driving north on the interstate approaching the Morse Road exit shortly after 11 p.m. when he lost control, struck the center median wall on the left, then traveled right across all lanes of traffic and ended up off the roadway. The vehicle flipped over several times, ejecting the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:20 p.m., police said.
The two deaths are the 39th and 40th traffic fatalities in Columbus this year
