Madison, TN : Woman injured in a single-vehicle crash in Madison on Friday afternoon, April 8, 2016

The woman fatally injured in a single-vehicle crash late Friday afternoon in the 800 block of Due West Avenue in Madison is identified as Vicki Lynn Nichols, 61, of Dickerson Pike.

Nichols was driving a 2006 Pontiac Torrent SUV at a high rate of speed when she began to travel on the grass shoulder. She overcorrected, causing the SUV to impact a ditch and a mailbox before it rolled over onto its right side. Nichols was pronounced dead at Skyline Medical Center.

There was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene. Nichols was not wearing a seatbelt.
