CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FL : Port Charlotte motorcyclist dies in collision on Wednesday, February 1st 2017

A Port Charlotte motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon when he was hit by a car backing out of a driveway, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. Dead is Aaron Wesley, 43.
According to reports, Stephen Lawrence, 61, of Port Charlotte, was backing his Chevrolette Suburban westbound out of a driveway in the 1400 block of Fireside Street about 5:19 p.m. At the same moment, Wesley was traveling south on Fireside Street on his Kawasaki KX85 motorcycle, approaching the driveway.
Lawrence failed to see Wesley and pulled out into his path. Wesley attempted to swerve and avoid a collision, but the two vehicles struck each other. Wesley was thrown from his motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries.
The FHP is still investigating the accident.
