Pasco, FL : No students injured when school bus crashes in Pasco County on Monday, Aug 31, 2015
A Pasco County school bus carrying 33 students crashed into the back of a stopped car this morning near River Ridge High School, troopers said.
None of the middle and high school students was injured but a driver and passenger in the Mazda 3 that was hit received minor injuries, according to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Teresa Cooney, 53, of New Port Richey was driving the bus and was cited for careless driving, troopers said.
The bus was traveling south behind the Mazda on Moon Lake Road north of Ridge Road around 7:20 a.m., troopers said.
When the Mazda stopped, the bus kept going and drove into the back of the car, troopers said.
