JACKSONVILLE, FL : Man seriously injured in I-295 crash on August, Saturday 19th 2017

A man was seriously injured Saturday when he was hit by a car while standing outside of his semitruck on Interstate 295, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Sadie Jane Murdock, 18, of Fleming Island, was driving south in the left lane on I-295 near Baymeadows Road at about 1:50 a.m. when she veered off the road and crashed into 34-year-old Juan J. Morey’s semitruck, troopers said.

Morey, who had gotten out of the big rig for unknown reasons, was hit while standing near the rear of the semitruck's trailer, troopers said.

Morey was seriously injured and Murdock suffered minor injuries in the crash. They were both taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment.
