Cedartown, GA : One killed, one injured in wreck on Highway 27 near Dugdown Road early Saturday, September 10, 2016

One person was killed and another hospitalized in a wreck this morning south of Cedartown, according to Georgia State Patrol officials.

Their press office released that Daniel Lee Clackum, 29, of Cedartown was killed and Allen Dale Dostart, 28, of Cedartown was injured and taken to Floyd Medical Center by Redmond EMS after the pair were traveling southbound in the left line in a GMC pickup truck, when a dump truck changed lanes in front of the pickup traveling on Highway 27 south near Dugdown Road.

The pickup struck the rear end of the dump truck around 6:40 a.m.

Clackum was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:20 a.m. according to Polk County Coroner Tony Brazier.

The driver of the dump truck Jeffery David McCray, 59, of Buchanan, was uninjured in the wreck.

The Georgia State Patrol’s Special Collision Reconstruction Team is still investigating this morning’s wreck, officials said
