Authorities have released the name of the Cascade woman who died in a crash near Craig on Thursday afternoon.

Sydney Furst, 84, died as a result of injuries from the crash, the Cascade County Sheriff’s office said Friday.

The crash happened at about 1:15 p.m. on the Craig Frontage Road, also known as Old U.S. Highway 91, the Montana Highway Patrol reported. The woman was traveling southbound near mile marker 23 when she crossed the center line, drifted off the road and struck a rock embankment, the MHP said.

The vehicle she was driving rolled and landed on its roof, and the woman died from her injuries.

Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash, and the woman was not wearing her seat belt, MHP officials said.
