Rapid City, SD : One-vehicle crash near Presho on Thursday, 5th April 2018

A man died and two juveniles were injured in a one-vehicle crash near Presho Thursday morning.

A 2008 Kia Sorento was heading west on Interstate 90 when the SUV went off the road entered the ditch and rolled. This happened just past 11 a.m. about 6 miles west of Presho, according to a Department of Public Safety release.

A 57-year-old man died at the scene, and his two juvenile male companions suffered life-threatening injuries. The injured were taken by ambulance to the Pierre hospital and later flown to Sioux Falls, said department spokesperson Tony Mangan.

The vehicle occupants, who were not wearing seat belts, got thrown out of the SUV, said investigators from the South Dakota Highway Patrol. It’s not yet clear who was driving, and what caused the crash, Mangan said.
