Lincoln, NE : A collision in Lancaster County on Wednesday, August 30, 2017
Two people died Wednesday afternoon in a collision in Lancaster County, authorities say.
The names of the deceased had not been released Wednesday evening.
According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, a Chrysler Town & Country minivan traveling east on Highway 33 crossed lanes and struck a westbound semitrailer head-on.
The driver and passenger of the van died, while the driver and a passenger in the semi were treated at the scene and released.
The crash was reported at 3:32 p.m. and occurred just west of the intersection of Highway 33 and Southwest 100th Street.
The Sheriff’s Office, Crete Fire & Rescue and the Nebraska State Patrol assisted at the scene.
