Calhoun County, AL : Driver died after a fatal single-vehicle crash in Calhoun County on Saturday, December 6, 2014
After a fatal single-vehicle crash Saturday in Calhoun County, investigators are still working to determine the driver's cause of death.
At 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Alabama state troopers responded to a crash on Alabama 21 at mile marker 269, north of Jacksonville. The driver, whose name has not been released, was dead at the scene, spokesman Sgt. Steve Jarrett said.
Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown told the Anniston Star that, based on the information he received, he believed the driver died of natural causes.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the driver died of a medical condition at the wheel of the car, causing the crash.
