Baton Rouge, LA : Bastrop man faces DWI, hit-and-run charge after leaving wreck on Louisiana 134 east of Old Monroe Road on Friday, 3rd January, 2020
A Bastrop man is facing multiple charges after a wreck Friday morning.
According to an arrest report for Matthew S. Lindeman, age 33, troopers were dispatched to a single-vehicle wreck on Louisiana 134 east of Old Monroe Road around 2:20 a.m. Friday.
The driver was no longer in the vehicle, but Lindeman's driver's license was under the front seat.
The owner of the vehicle was contacted, and she said Lindeman was in a wreck and she was going to pick him up. Troopers located Lindeman in another vehicle not far from the wreck. Per the report, his jacket was soaked and had dirt on the chest and shoulders.
Lindeman told troopers his girlfriend was driving and wrecked the truck. He could not provide identification information for the girlfriend and said he did not have her number in his phone.
He also said he did not call to report the wreck because his phone was not working. The arresting trooper reported the phone seemed to be operation and was charged.
Lindeman was booked on charges of misdemeanor hit and run driving, careless operation and resisting arrest.
